Welcome to Red Pennant, “where fashion meets function on the high seas.”  The first thing you should know about the clothing you’ll find here is that we wear them ourselves, so we know they work.  We are women on the water, just like you.  We sail, cruise, paddle, and play in oceans, rivers, and lakes all around the world and we’re just plain tired of wearing modified men’s clothing.  We’re worn out from trying to fit our figures into stick straight pants and shapeless jackets.  We don't want to roll up another man-sized sleeve and for Pete’s sake (whoever Pete may be), we want some color and fun prints to play in.  Is that asking too much?

So here’s what we did.  When we did found something we raved about, something we wore all the time, something that really works, we made it available to you here.  And when we couldn’t find it, we went ahead and built it ourselves.  We designed it, tested it, and built it right here in the good old USA.  Think of us as your personal shoppers and designers for performance sailing apparel like padded quick-dry shorts, 98% sun-blocking stay-dry shirts, wicking undergarments, stick-to-it-when-wet shoes, and many more things coming soon.  

Let's not forget those stick people in your lives (read: men).  We found some great things for them too.  We discovered that -- surprise, surprise -- many men are tired of the drab olive, ho-hum khaki, and boring black so prevalent in lifestyle clothing, so we have plans to build them some knock-out stuff too.  Our men’s line will be released in the spring of 2009 so mark your calendar.  In the meantime we hope you’ll find what you’ve always wanted here.
